Custom Dynamic Text Tool
Are you wondering why the icon beside the  Linked to in the Dynamic Text Tool screen is grayed out? Well, this icon lets you build your own dynamic text. In the Linked to, scroll down to the end of the list and select Custom, you will then be able to click on the icon.
When you click on it, a window will open and you will be able to build some dynamic text (150 char. max) that IDpack Producer will interpret and print on your badge. How does it work? Well, with the Dynamic Text Tool, you can select only one field at a time to place on the badge, but if you want to have the Firstname and Lastname on the same field and separated by a space, or add a prefix like "Attn:" in front, you can do it with the Build Dynamic Text Tool. Simply type whatever you want in the input field. All fields must by entered as in the Badge Setup Field Definition with [ and ] around them.
In this example, this what you will see printed on the badge: Attn: John Doe - all perfectly spaced.
At the end of the list, you have four special dynamic fields: LONG DATE, SHORT DATE, LONG TIME and SHORT TIME. This allows you to add the date or time on the badge when it's printed. When you use LONG DATE or SHORT DATE, a window will open.
This window asks you how many days to add to the current date. This is useful for expiration dates, which might be 30 days.
