Smartcard Docking Station
| • | To manage data on a chip you must have: |
| 1. | One card printer with a Smartcard Contact Station or Docking Station; |
| 2. | One external reader/encoder to be connected with the Smartcard Contact Station inside the Card Printer; |
| 3. | Smartcard programming software adapted to the external reader/encoder and to the card OS (Operating System). |
IDpack Professional provides the link between the Smartcard programming software and the printer functions.

The Command Syntax is the code that will be sent to the printer to place the card on the Docking Station. If the printer manufacturer is not in the list, you can select Other and you will be able to enter the Direct Command code that will be sent to the printer to place the card in the Contact Station. Consult the printer documentation to get the command. The code is usually in the programming guide of the printer.
How to enter ASCII code
If you need to enter ASCII code, simply hold the ALT key and type the numeric code of the character using the keypad.
Example: ESC code is ALT-27, Enter code is ALT-13.
Browse and select the .exe file of the Smartcard encoder provided by your Smartcard. That file will be executed when the card is in the Contact Station prior to printing. Once you have encoded the card, simply click OK and the card will then be printed.
