Barcode Tool
When the Barcode Tool button is selected, you can add a barcode to your badge by clicking at the desired position on the layout. Once you add a barcode, it is automatically selected so you can resize it by clicking and dragging one of the red squares or by double-clicking on it to edit its properties.
When you select a barcode with the Pick Tool, you will see that the alignment icon in the toolbar at the top is enabled. By default, the barcode is aligned to the left of the space you specified, but in some cases it will be smaller than the space you allowed for it. For design purposes, you might find it more interesting to align it to the left or right side of the box.
When you double-click on the barcode object, its property window will open and you will have the following options available:
Width and height of the box where the barcode will be printed.
Code 3 of 9 by default
IDpack comes with 25 different types of barcodes; this is where you can select the one you want.
Center by default
By default, it will be aligned in the center of the available space. For design purposes, you might find it more interesting to align it to the left or right side of the box.
If you want IDpack to enter a prefix/suffix value in the barcode, enter it here.
Serial Number by default
By default, the barcode will be generated with the Serial Number field, but you might want to use your own field. The Linked to List is the one you defined in the Badge Setup Field Definitions menu.
Here you can type the value you want to see in the barcode. This value is fixed and will be printed on all badges.
Unchecked by default
Change the Font/Size of the label under the barcode. The Show text label must be enabled to use it.
| • | Foreground/Background color |
Black and White by default
Set the Foreground and the Background color of the barcode. Even if the standard should be black and white, it might happen that you need to set it to another color.
0 by default
Change the rotation of the barcode on the badge.
Unchecked by default
Allows you to scale the barcode to the full width you specified in your design for cosmetic purposes. This option must be used with caution; by stretching the barcode size the barcode might surpass standard limits and some barcode readers might have problems reading them. Test the result before using it too extensively.
Unchecked by default
Show or hide the label under the barcode.
