IDpack Designer
The following section will show you how to create your first badge with IDpack Business. You should be able produce a finished card in about 10 minutes. Before completing the following steps, you must have successfully installed the IDpack Business software. To do this, please refer to the Install Instructions.
Steps:
| 1. | Start IDpack Designer. To do this, click on your Windows Start Menu Programs IDpack, then click on IDpack Designer; |
| 2. | You should now see a splash screen. If you have the Trial Version, click Try and select IDpack Business, or if you have already purchased IDpack Business, click Register and enter your registration number; |
| 3. | You can now see an empty workspace. If you click File New..., the Badge Setup window will open. Change the orientation to Landscape and click OK; |
| 4. | You can now see a white rectangle on the workspace, on which you will design your badge layout. The next steps will help you produce a card like the one below, which is only meant to serve as a guide. You can choose any layout you wish; |
| 5. | To add a picture (photograph), click the icon in the toolbox, move your mouse over the badge and click again to drop it onto the left side of the layout. You can now see a picture, which you can move around on the workspace and resize if you like; |
| 6. | Repeat Step 5 with the icon and place it to the right of the picture; |
| 7. | Repeat again with the icon and a window will open. Click the Pull-down Field, select First Name and click OK. Place it to the right of the picture above the barcode. You should now see something like this: |

| 8. | Click File Save; |
| 9. | Create a directory in your C: drive called: c:\badgelayout, and go there; |
| 10. | Enter QuickStart in the Filename and click Save. That file contains your Badge Layout and the file extension is IDP, for IDpack Project; |
| 11. | Close IDpack Designer. |
Congratulations! You have just designed your first badge. You can now proceed to the IDpack Producer Quick Start instructions.
