Video Capture Device
Using the Camera pull-down menu, select the camera that you will use for the built-in Live Camera preview or the External TWAIN capture. We always recommend you use the Live Preview instead of the External TWAIN capture. The External TWAIN capture has been added only to support old cameras.
If you are using a slow computer or experiencing latency (jagged images) in the Live Camera preview, try to lower the fps (frames per second) rate. It's set to 15 by default, but on a fast computer you can go up to 30 fps for a higher quality picture.
| • | Enable the "Save CPU Power" for slow computers |
Checked by default
By default, when you are using IDpack, the Live Camera preview is always enabled even if you are not in the Badge Information tab. By turning it off, it will stop the preview when the Badge Information tab is not selected. This will save CPU speed but slow down the time it takes to switch between tabs.
| • | Enable the "Green Oval" in the Live Camera |
Checked by default
Unchecking this option turns off the Green Oval in Live Preview. This option is for slow computers and is meant to provide more power to the Live Camera function.
Printer
It is better to leave the software set to the Default Printer, but you might want to force IDpack Business to use another printer at some stage.
When IDpack builds the badge and sends it to the printer, it print the badges starting at the 0,0 position from the top left corner of the paper. However, various brands of printers perform differently. So when you get the result, the badge might be offset from the paper format. Adjust the X and Y measurements to change the starting position of the badge on the printer. Using the inch unit, you just need to vary by "0.01" until it's OK. You can also use a negative value, like "-0.01".
Options
| • | Restore last opened document at Startup |
Checked by default
Opens the IDP file you were using when you last closed the software.
| • | Start in the folder last opened in the File Open dialog |
Checked by default
To save time, this checkbox is checked by default and IDpack Business always starts in the last folder opened in the File Open dialog.
| • | Turn on the Print Preview temporarily |
Unchecked by default
Using this option, you can turn the Print Preview on or off in IDpack. This is useful when you want to test a badge layout and see what the precise result will be before printing. We recommend you always turn the Print Preview off for massive productions.
| • | Go to the Badge List after printing a badge from Badge Information |
Checked by default
This option is checked by default, but you can uncheck it and IDpack will stop going to the Badge List when printing a badge from Badge Information. This can be used when you want to print badges from Badge Information and navigate in the list with the Navigation Bar.
