Producer Setup
This section contains a list of checkboxes and options for configuring IDpack Producer. We have placed the Producer Setup in the IDpack Designer Badge Layout because many of our clients use IDpack Business on a network. To ensure that all stations on the network are set up in the same way we had to place the Producer Setup in one place. This ensures that no individual user can alter the badge layout being used by all workstations on that network.

| • | Enable Add Badge function |
Checked by default
When checked, it allows you to add new badges directly in IDpack Producer. If you are using a query in MS Access with multiple tables, uncheck the box because Access cannot insert or update a query with multiple tables.
| • | Enable Delete Badge function |
Checked by default
If you want to allow badge deletion, you should check this box. Again, it doesn't work if you are using a query in MS Access with multiple tables.
Unchecked by default
You must check this option if you want to enable the Activity Log function in IDpack Producer.
Unchecked by default
This is the most important option in IDpack Producer. It tells IDpack Producer to add a new tab after Badge Information which allows you to preview the badges being generated from the Buffer, prior to printing. Please refer to the IDpack Producer Print Preview section for more information about Print Preview. When this function is unchecked, badges are sent directly to the printer.
| • | Enable Extended Find function |
Checked by default
Uncheck this option to disable the Extended Find function in IDpack Producer.
| • | Print a black border around the badge |
Unchecked by default
It is very useful to print a border around your badge at the beginning in order to set up the Printing Offset in IDpack Producer. Please refer to the IDpack Producer options for more information about Printing Offset.
| • | Put date/time in database when taking picture |
Checked by default
If you want a record of when the Capture Picture button was pressed, just check this option and it will enter a date/time record in the database.
| • | Put date/time in database when using QuickFind |
Checked by default
If you want a record of when the QuickFind is used, just check this option and it will enter a date/time record in the database.
| • | Autosize columns in Badge List |
Unchecked by default
If you want the columns to autosize the values in the badge list, just check this option.
| • | Enable the Color Code function |
Checked by default
If you do not use the Color Code function in IDpack Business, you can turn it off so it will be less confusing and save some space in IDpack Producer. For more information on Color Codes, please refer to the Color Code section.
| • | Badge identification name |
You can enter a name for your badge layout here. It can be useful in the Export To function, or in the Windows Print Buffer.
| • | Primary/Secondary Sort by |
Specify a Sort by preference in the Badge List when IDpack Producer first loads. By checking the Descending checkbox to the right, you can inverse the sort order of the field selected. By default, unchecked will sort from A to Z and checked will sort from Z to A. This checkbox is very useful when sorting dates.
Serial Number by default
Specify the default Quick Find field IDpack Producer will use. For more information, please refer to the Quick Find instructions.
Serial Number by default
Specify the default field IDpack Producer will use to save the picture filename. If you are using your own employee ID, you can use that field to save the pictures under that dynamic text. Always select a field in which the content is UNIQUE, with no duplication. Example: Serial Number or ID Number.
BMP by default
Specify the file extension to which the picture will be saved. For more information on file extensions, please refer to the IDpack File Extension section.
| • | Save picture with prefix |
None by default
In a case in which you have more than one database in the directory using the same picture filename structure, you might want to add a prefix to separate them like a letter or a number (maximum of 5 characters). If you enter a prefix, a "-" will separate the prefix from the filename.
